Felipe Santiago

December 28, 1945 — August 31, 2018

Felipe Santiago age 72, beloved husband of Fanny Villacreses Santiago of Norwalk, passed away on August 31, 2018 in Bridgeport Hospital.  Mr. Santiago was born on December 28, 1945 in Orocovis, Puerto Rico and arrived to Stamford CT in 1967 where he met and married his wife and started a family.  In 1988, he and his family moved to Norwalk, CT.  For 30 years, Felipe worked for the Town of Darien until he retired in 2014.

Felipe will be remembered by his wife of 48 years, Fanny V. Santiago, his three children and their spouses Sylvia Santiago {Marc Cote}, Edwin Santiago {Yissel Monegro} and Sonia Santiago Marrero {Eddie Marrero}, his siblings Juan Santiago of Norwalk, CT and Ana Nelida, Angel Luis, Luz Maria, Maria Elsa and Ada Elba all from Puerto Rico. He leaves behind five grandchildren, Fernando, Emanuel, Miguel, Alexander and Daniel who loved their “Abuelo,” and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents Agapito and Adela Vazquez Santiago, his brothers Justiniano and Jose Santiago, and his sister Antonia Cruz.

Felipe will always be remembered as a good spirited, warm hearted and kind loving person who helped any and everyone the same as if they were family.  He brought love and laughter to all occasions with his endless charm.  He enjoyed gardening, baseball, listening to music and especially his grandkids.

Friends may greet the family on Tuesday September 4, 2018, from 4:00 till 8:00 pm in the Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home, 5 East Wall Street in Historic Norwalk. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday September 5, 2018 at 10:00 am at St. Mary Church, 669 West Ave. Norwalk.
