Ethel E. Nelsen

Ethel Nelsen, 92, of Norwalk, CT, loving wife of Kenneth A. Nelsen, passed away on Thursday, November 10th after a brief illness. Ethel was born in Brooklyn, New York to Einar and Esther Danielsen. She attended Fort Hamilton High School and worked for the US Embassy in Norway after graduation. Ethel married her high school sweetheart and moved to Norwalk to raise her family. She retired from the Norwalk Public School System after serving as secretary at Wolkfpit and Fox Run Schools. She was a long-time member of her bowling league and Ascension Beach Club.  Ethel also gave her time as a volunteer with Norwalk Hospital and Norwalk Senior Center.   She was always proud of her Norwegian heritage, loved all animals, gardening, dancing, crafting, and most of all, spending time with her family. Ethel leaves behind her husband of 69 years, Kenneth Nelsen, sons Craig Nelsen, Paul Nelsen (Deanna), Eric Nelsen, daughter Nancy Godfrey (Doug), 9 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her parents, brother Ralph Danielsen, and her always missed, son Roy Nelsen.

Friends are invited to greet the family on Monday November 14. 2022 from Noon till 3:00 pm in the Raymond Funeral Home 5 East Wall Street in Historic Norwalk. A prayer service will be held at 2:00 pm. Interment will be on Tuesday 1:00 pm at Ct. Veterans Cemetery, Middletown, CT. Please visit, www.norwalkfh.com to leave an online condolence for the family.
