Esther Rosaline Roberts, age 75, of Stamford, CT, died February, 15, 2011 after a lengthy illness. She was born November 14, 1935 in White Plains, New York, the daughter of the late Charles and Sarah Braziller. Esther is pre-deceased by her son "PJ", Prentice James Roberts, her husband Ronald Roberts, and her brother Sydney Braziller. Esther graduated from Norwalk Community College in 1981 with an associate degree in Nursing. She was a retired registered Nurse who devoted herself to the care of the frail elderly. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Stamford CT and a volunteer at Nathaniel Witherall Nursing Home in Greenwich. Esther is survived by her siblings, Jerry Braziller and his wife Estelle, Paul Braziller and his wife Beth, and her sister in-law Helene Braziller. She is also survived by her children, son Keith Roberts of North Carolina her daughter Sandee Gelven and her husband Michael of Stamford, CT and her son Blythe Roberts of New Milford, CT and seven grandchildren, Keith Roberts and his wife Shelia, Amanda Roberts, Stephanie Roberts, Kimber Roberts, Catherine Pucci, Christina Pucci, Sarah Pucci and seven great-grandchildren. Esther leaves behind many dear friends who have loved and supported her. She was a wonderful cook who enjoyed preparing her specialties for others. She loved to travel and cherished her memories of those enjoyable times. The family of Esther will receive family and friends on Thursday, February 17, 2011 in Norwalk's Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 5 East Wall Street from 6:00PM - 8:00PM. Her funeral service will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church, 884 Newfield Avenue, Stamford, CT on Friday, February 18, 2011 at 11:00AM. The Rev. Scott Harris will officiate. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, Esther requested donations be made in her memory to St. John Lutheran Church or Notre Dame Convalescent Home, 76 West Rocks Road, Norwalk, CT. 06851.
