NORWALK, CONN Erzulda Pierre-Louis of Norwalk, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2009, following a brief illness. She was 63. Her beloved husband Esperance Pierre-Louis passed away in 1983. Born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Erzulda was the daughter of the late Maurice and Humaine (Lescailles) Veillard and was educated in local schools. She owned and operated Epicerie Saint Marguerite in Haiti for many years before retiring. She was an accomplished cake maker and deli owner. In 2001, Erzulda emigrated to the States and settled in Norwalk with her daughter. She enjoyed providing for her family and caring for so many children. Her nurturing ways led to caring for many other children that she called her own. She is survived by her daughter, Chella and her husband, Lefranc Jean-Charles of Norwalk; four grandchildren, Chenelle and Chirlene Dubuisson and Cherysse E. and Michael Jean-Charles; a brother, Concoul Lescailles of Haiti; a sister, Millange Lescailles of Haiti; several nieces and nephews and the many lives she touched. Erzulda's family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, August 29, 2009 in Norwalk's Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 5 East Wall Street from 11:00AM - NOON. Her funeral service will follow at the conclusion of visitation, 12:00PM, NOON. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Norwalk.
