ENID M. GENIAS was born in Rose Hill Manchester, Jamaica West Indies on January 15th, 1933 to
Eugina Dennis and Alfred Clarke. She attended Rose Hill High School, and later
relocated to Kingston where she found employment with Tip Top Restaurant. Always trying to improve herself and provide for her Family she found employment with
Desnoes and Geddes, LTD ( D & G ) which was one of the largest beverage producer's in the Country.
Enid met and later married Egbert Genias in April 1960, being very ambitious and driven to succeed she migrated to the United States in May of 1969 where she settled in Norwalk, Connecticut and found employment with Norwalk, Hospital. Enid loved to dance and have a good time, she enjoyed entertaining, she was very active in her Church where she was a member of the Coffee Table Committee, serving other Church Members and Members of the Community. She was always ready to take a picture as long as you got her good side, which was easy being that all her sides were good.
ENID later relocated to Bridgeport, Connecticut and then to Cary, North Carolina to be closer to her Son Garfield and her Brother William. Her laughter was infectious, and she always like to have the last word. Her dog Andre was the only one who got away with everything with her.
ENID is preceded in death by her Husband Egbert Genias, her Daughter ZanRose Genias-O'Niel and Son Evol Genias. She leaves to cherish her memories: Loving Daughter Olphia ( Earl ) Barnes of Rochester, New York, Sons Garfield Genias, of Apex North Carolina, and Edward Genias of Rochester, New York. Brothers Marshal Clarke of Saskatchewan, Canada. William (Louis ) Clarke of Raleigh, North Carolina and Edward ( Dawn ) Clarke of West Palm Beach, Florida. Daughter In Law Sheila Genias, four Grand Children: Shanika Genias, Brandon E. Barnes, Deodrick A. Barnes and Jordon O. Genias. She also left four Great Grand Children, many extended Family members and numerous Friends and Love Ones.
Gone But Never Forgotten. Love You Now and Always As Your Legacy Continues On The Earth.
Friends may greet the family on Thursday, November 2, 2023 from 5:00 till 8:00 pm at the Raymond Funeral Home, 5 East Wall Street in Historic Norwalk. Funeral Services will be held on Friday 10:00 am directly at Christ Church, Norwalk. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Norwalk.
