McFARLIN-Edward Taber McFarlin, Age 86, beloved husband of Diana Crabtree McFarlin of Rowayton, passed away at Norwalk Hospital on June 20, 2012. Ted was born in Winchester, Massachusetts on July 19, 1925 to the late Edward Taber and Margaret Haigh McFarlin. He was a World War II and Korean War veteran--serving in the U.S. Navy.Ted was involved in Sales and Marketing--employed by Fraser Paper Company. He attended Hebron Academy and went on to further his education at Burdett College in Boston, Massachusetts. He was an avid golfer and when he retired to New Hampshire, he spent most of his time playing golf at the Lake Sunapee Golf Club in New London, New Hampshire. Ted loved living near the water in Pine Point, Rowayton. In addition to his wife, Diana, survivors include his sons, Edward Taber McFarlin, III and his wife Kerry of Rowayton, CT and Alan Hall McFarlin of Norwalk, CT. Ted was a grandfather to Kelly Elizabeth McFarlin and Edward Taber McFarlin, IV. He was predeceased by his sister, Margaret Ross McFarlin. Services will be held privately at the United Church of Rowayton. Norwalk's Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 5 East Wall St. has been entrusted with the arrangements.
