NORWALK, CONN Dorothy Thompson Palmer, age 89, of Norwalk, CT. passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, November 02, 2011. She was born on May 15, 1922 in St. Joseph, Missouri. Dorothy was the daughter of the late Nate and Marie Thompson. She was also predeceased by her son Dale Johnson and brother Charles Thompson. Dorothy was a graduate of St. Patrick Catholic School, Central High School, and Platt-Garne College in St. Joseph. A sports enthusiast, Dorothy loved watching the New York Yankees and UCONN men and women basketball teams. She also enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles, and spending time with her family. Survivors include her husband Leonard T. Palmer, 3 daughters: Linda Gaita of Newtown, Janet Dudek and her husband Steve of Stamford, Kathy Buer and her husband John of Harrison, NY, 2 sons: Harry Palmer and his wife Thuhuong of Norwalk, and Alan Palmer of Norwalk. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Dorothy's family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, November 06, 2011 in Norwalk's Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 5 East Wall Street from 12, Noon - 4:00PM. Her funeral will be held in the parlor on Monday, November 07, 2011 at 10:00AM. You may start arriving at 9:30AM. Interment will follow in Willowbrook Cemetery, Westport, Conn.
