NORWALK, CONN Doris Marie Meury of Norwalk passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2009 in Connecticut Hospice of Branford, following a brief illness. She was 79. Born in Stamford on October 02, 1929, Doris was the daughter of the late Joseph O. and Helen E. (Kiesel) Meury and attended local schools. In 1968, she settled in Norwalk and worked for the former Bunker-Ramo. There she worked as a solderer for over twenty five years before retiring. Following retirement, she continued at various locations throughout the area. Doris loved to play bingo, roller-skate, ice skate and swim. She also enjoyed gardening and going to the casino. But most of all, she enjoyed her family and looked forward to the many picnics they hosted. She is survived by two brothers, Richard T. Meury of Homestead, FL and George E. Meury of Ridgefield, Conn; two sisters, Anna May Sweet and Marjorie H. Meury, both of Norwalk and many nieces and nephews. Honoring Doris' wishes, all services will be held privately.
