Doris Lydia Johnson, 67, of Westport, died peacefully in her sleep after a brief illness. Doris was born in Norwalk Hospital, and was raised in Silvermine. In 1984 as a young adult she moved into her lifelong home on Pine Drive in Westport. Doris had a great appreciation of beauty, rainbows and flowers. Her love for coffee cannot be put into words!!! Her face lit up at the mere aroma! She spoke with a beautiful Finish accent, and sang sweets songs. She also drew and painted as a way of sharing her artistic side. Doris was beloved by so many people. She lived for 30 years in her home, lovingly supported by the CLASP staff who were her extended family. She will also be deeply missed by her housemates Linda, Joan, Eleanor, Vicki and Martha. Over the past 3 decades she various programs with STAR, including their Senior Options Program in Norwalk. She was pre-deceased by her parents. A celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 24th at 1:30 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 208 Newtown Ave in Norwalk.
