Donna L. Young

Donna L. Young of Wilton, Connecticut passed away at the age of 80. She is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years, George B. Young, and a daughter, Jennifer Elizabeth Mosier of Baltimore, Maryland. A son, Gregory, predeceased her in 2016.

Born in New York City, Donna was the daughter of Francis O’Neill and Ida Louise Sullivan. Two brothers, John O’Neill and Francis O’Neill, predeceased her.

Donna was raised in Sunnyside, Queens, New York. She graduated from St. Vincent Ferrer High School in  New York City. Following graduation she was employed with the Federal Bureau of Investigation in its New York City office and American Airlines.

While raising her family, Donna was active in many educational, church and community activities. In 1984, she joined the Darien Board of Education’s Guidance Department at Middlesex Middle School in Darien, Connecticut until her retirement in 2019. During her 35 years at Middlesex Middle School, she was known for her kindness and support for students especially those with special needs. Among her activities she registered and welcomed all new students, organized and supervised student and parent events, and worked closely with counselors and administrators to assure students were receiving the attention and support they needed.

A private family service and Mass was held at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Wilton, Connecticut.
