Donna-Marie O. Solano
In the early morning on July 9, 2022, our beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend Donna-Marie O. Solano passed away in Norwalk, Connecticut.
Born February 8, 1960 in Stamford, CT to the late Carol A. and late Kenneth F. Osgood, Donna is survived by her husband Dominick Solano, her children Alex, Kaitlyn, and Nicholas Solano, and her sisters Kelly (Donald) Eckert and Jennie Osgood Miller. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brother Douglas Osgood.
A nearly lifelong resident of Norwalk, CT, Donna met Dominick, her husband of almost 29 years, while working at the bank. He was her postman. After starting a new family with Dominick and Alex, they were soon joined by Kaitlyn and Nicholas.
During her career at the bank, Donna moved her way up from teller to vice president. Donna then joined the accounting firm of John Prichard, PC, and later started her own bookkeeping business, SimplyDonna.
Donna found joy and pleasure in simple acts and small things: a new plant in an earth-ware pot, a good cup of coffee in a Starbucks mug, a simple Irish blessing, a cosmo by the pool deck, or a book on the beach. No sooner than you brought up your birthday in passing, she was writing it in her meticulously kept planner. Not that she needed it, Donna’s memory was immaculate, and she remembered the finer details that you forgot as quickly as you mentioned them.
Donna loved decorating. Every holiday, big or small, had its own table-set and window dressing, but none more so than Christmas. Donna kept no less than ten Christmas trees every year, of every size, each with their own unique theme and decor. It wasn’t unusual to find a tree still up in the middle of the summer. Each trinket and tchotchke that Donna had collected had its own unique place in her carefully curated home. Every object is a memory, filled with meaning, and even the smallest object on the shelves holds its own rich history.
In memory of Donna, her family asks that you take a moment to update your calendar, to water your plants, and to tell someone you love them.
