A Little Life - the Story of Domenico Thomas Almonte affectionately known as “Nico,” entered peacefully into eternal rest on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at Norwalk Hospital, Norwalk, Connecticut, with his loving parents by his side. Nico was born on December 2, 2025, in Stamford, Connecticut, to Tessiah Rosalind Wright and Dominick Almonte. As the beloved 41st grandchild of the Austin family and first grandchild of the Almonte-Peralta families, Nico’s arrival was celebrated with immense joy and anticipation. Though his time with us was brief, his precious life touched the hearts of generations of family and friends with a love beyond measure. For six precious months, Nico touched our hearts with a love we never knew was possible. Every smile, every giggle, every cuddle, and every moment spent holding him was a blessing. Nico had already begun developing his own sweet little personality and favorite things. He especially loved watching Yo Gabba Gabba and would quickly let everyone know when the music stopped or a commercial interrupted his favorite show. His cherished companions were his Wiggly Caterpillar and Snoopy stuffed animals, which were rarely far from his side. He delighted in chewing on the caterpillar’s antennae and Snoopy’s little arms, bringing smiles and laughter to those around him. Though we wish we could have watched him grow and flourish, we are grateful for the happiness, warmth, and love he brought into our lives. His gentle spirit and beautiful presence will remain in our hearts forever. Nico leaves a legacy of strength, unity and laughter, that will be lovingly cherished by his devoted parents, Tessiah Rosalind Wright and Dominick Almonte; his maternal and paternal grandparents; his godparents; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends who adored him. Nico was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Thomas Wright, Jr., whose earthly journey ended just one day after Nico’s began. Though their time together was brief, we find comfort in knowing that their spirits are forever united in God’s eternal care. While we grieve the loss of our precious angel, we take comfort in knowing that Nico is now resting peacefully in God’s loving embrace. Though he is no longer in our sight, he will forever remain in our hearts. His memory will continue to be a source of love, strength, and inspiration, and his light will shine brightly through all those who were blessed to know and love him. “On the Wings of a Dove –The Angels shall bring a gift of memory and love that will never end.”
