Dariusz Pysk

Dariusz Pysk, age 58, beloved husband to Urszula Szeloch Pysk of Norwalk, passed away on August 23, 2021 in Stamford Hospital. He was born on November 15, 1962 in Morąg, Poland and was a son to Roman and Maria Paniznik Pysk.

Dariusz completed his degree at the Maritime Academy in Gdynia, Poland, with a Master's degree in Sea Navigation. He went on to complete a second Master's degree in International Transportation Management at the State University of New York Maritime College.

Dariusz had a strong passion for sailing. He started sailing in his youth at the local sailing club in his hometown of Olsztyn, Poland. He sailed on many different boats, ranging from Cadets to OK Dinghies to Quarter Tonners. After moving to the US he continued his sailing career on J/24s, Lasers and other keelboat programs. Over 40 years of sailing he accumulated many awards, but more importantly many memories while sailing with his friends.


He enjoyed going camping every summer with his family in the wilderness of The Adirondacks. He loved to explore nature, whether it was hiking through the Grand Canyon, looking up at the geysers of Yellowstone, or holding a baby alligator in the Everglades. Dariusz was also very resourceful and skillful, there was nothing he couldn't fix, and if he ran into a problem he didn't know how to fix he would teach himself and solve the problem. Dariusz always had a strong commitment to family and friends, and he was there to support in any way possible.


He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Urszula; his sons, Adam and Alexander; his brother, Andrzej; his father, Roman; and his sister-in-law, Ewa.


Friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday August 28, 2021 at 10:00 am in St. Matthew’s Parish, 216 Scribner Ave. Norwalk. Interment will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Norwalk.
