RETIRED NORWALK POLICE OFFICER NORWALK, CONN Daniel J. Lasprogato, a retired Norwalk Police Officer, passed away on Thursday, September 30, 2010 in Norwalk Hospital, following a brief illness. Born in Norwalk on March 21, 1950, Danny was the son of Arthur J. and Rose M. (Daly) Lasprogato of Norwalk and graduated from Brien McMahon High School in 1968. Following high school, he enrolled in the Norwalk Police Department's first Cadet Program. After successful training and at the age of 21, Danny became a full time Police Officer of the city of Norwalk. After twenty-three years of faithful service to the citizens of Norwalk, Danny retired following a disability. He continued his trade at Norwalk Hospital, Honey Hill Nursing Center and Klaff's of South Norwalk in the field of security until his retirement in 2008. Danny was an avid fisherman and hunter who loved the outdoors. He was also a long time bowler with the Friday night A League at Rip Van Winkle Lanes. He enjoyed his family and friends and will be greatly missed by them. Along with his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Arthur A. and his wife, Debra Lasprogato of Monroe and Thomas P. and his wife, Joan Lasprogato of Venice, FL; a sister, Linda M. and her husband, Rikki Ball of Venice, FL; three nieces, Katie Jorgenson, Amanda Lasprogato and Jennifer Lasprogato; three nephews, Michael and Jake Lasprogato and Joseph (Lasprogato) and his fiancé, Leah Bernardo; two grand-nephews, Spencer and Ty Jorgenson and many cousins. Preceding in death (1976) was a daughter, Stacey Lynn Lasprogato. Funeral arrangements are private and will be held at the convenience of the family.
