Czeslaw Jankowski

October 27, 1928 — March 25, 2025

Czeslaw Jankowski, 96, of Norwalk CT, passed away peacefully on March 25th 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on October 27th 1928 in Brzostowo (Poland), Czeslaw was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. At the young age of 16, Czeslaw started working as a blacksmith’s apprentice and rose to the designation of a Master Blacksmith.  He also served in the Polish Military, working as a farrier in the cavalry.  In 1957, he married Teresa Skrodzka and had 4 children – Edward, Lucyna, Renata and Elzbieta.  He lived in Krakow until he immigrated to the USA in 1981, with the help of his sister, in search of a better life for himself and his family at the age of 53.  In 1983, his wife and younger daughters were able to join him in the USA, where he was able to start a life that also created a pathway for his older children and families to immigrate to the USA.  The courage and determination that this took is the accomplishment that he was most proud of in his life.

He purchased Artistic Iron Works, a steel fabrication shop, in 1991 – in partnership with his son Edward, and they both worked hard to grow the company into a successful business, until his retirement in 2007. He was a proud member of NOMMA (National Ornamental & Miscellaneous Metals Association).  His legacy is continued by his successors: his daughter, Renata Singh, and his grandson, Maciej Jankowski, who continue to grow the company to new heights.

A man of unwavering dedication, he worked tirelessly to provide for his family and was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. He volunteered at ‘The Holy Name of Jesus’ church in Stamford CT. His strong work ethic and kind spirit touched the lives of many, leaving a legacy of generosity and integrity.

Above all, Czeslaw was a family man. He found his greatest joy in spending time with his loved ones, creating memories filled with laughter, love, and warmth. Whether offering guidance, support, or simply a listening ear, he was a pillar of strength for those around him.

Czeslaw saw all of his children get married and adored spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is survived by his children Lucyna and her husband, Andrzej Pawlowski; Renata and her husband, Raj Singh; Elzbieta and her husband, Zbigniew Bober; his grandchildren Maciej Jankowski and his wife, Maryann; Lukasz Pawlowski and his wife, Lygia; Marcin Pawlowski and his wife, Angelika; Anna Gonzalez and her husband, Albert; Matthew Bober, Michael Bober, Maya Singh, Samir Singh, Sabrina Bober; and his six great grandchildren Dylan, Mila, Olivia, Adrianna, Nico, and Maksymilian as well as many dear friends and family. Czeslaw was preceded in death by his wife, Teresa Jankowska; his son, Edward Jankowski; his three sisters Maria, Janinna, Heronima; and four brothers Zygmunt, Jozef, Aleksander, and Stanislaw.

Visitation will be held on Thursday March 27th from 5pm until 8pm at  Raymond Funeral Home 5 E Wall Street Norwalk CT. A funeral will be held at Holy Name of Jesus on Friday March 28th at 11am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Holy Name of Jesus in Stamford CT or NOMMA Education Foundation.

Czeslaw Jankowski’s kindness, hard work, and devotion to his family will never be forgotten. He will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
