Constantino James Iannaccone

February 18, 1923 — June 10, 2011

FORMER NORWALK RESIDENT Constantino James "Sonny" Iannaccone, 88, a former Norwalk resident and W.W.II Veteran passed away on Friday, June 10, 2011. Born on February 18, 1923, the son of the late Angelo and Lillian Iannaccone. James started his 70 year history with the Boy Scouts of America with Troop 4 in South Norwalk. Climbing the ranks within the Eagle Scouts and Order of the Arrow to Asst. Scout Master, Scout Master and all the up to Commissioner. In his retirement staying active with the scouts he received the highest of all awards-The Silver Beaver. James was a World War II Veteran, enlisting with the Army Air force on January 11, 1943. He was a part of the 19th Supply Squadron that followed General Patton's tank advance on the German Army thru Europe with supplies and fuel. Some of his stations included Belgium, Oran Africa, Switzerland, Germany, France Spain and Italy. He is survived by wife Virginia of New York; son, Peter J. and wife Lisa of Norwalk; step-son, John of North Carolina; brother, Joseph and wife Joan of Norwalk; brother, Louis of New Milford; sister, Lucy and husband Albert of Milford; grandchildren, Christa Marie, Kimberly, Peter J. Jr. and wife Silvanna - all of Norwalk; great-grandchildren, Nelson, Devin, Arianna, Angelina and Peter J. Jr. III; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. He is pre-deceased by first wife Eleanor Cathrine Russo and son James Arthur. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at St. Matthew R.C. Church, 216 Scribner Ave, Norwalk at 11:00AM. Interment will follow with Military Honors in St. John Cemetery, Richards, Ave., Norwalk. Norwalk's Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 5 East Wall Street is honored to assist the Iannaccone family with the arrangements.
