Coedell Simpson, Jr., beloved son of Coedell Blitz “Red” Paul and Clotella Olivia Simpson, was born on February 23, 1955, in Anderson, South Carolina, and peacefully departed this life on February 5, 2026, at the age of 70.Coedell was the devoted husband of Althea C. Simpson (Thompson) of Norwalk, Connecticut, with whom he shared 38 years of marriage. He was a loving father to Chachanna, Coedell “Cody,” and Rachel. He is survived by his wife and children, who were the pride and joy of his life.He was preceded in death by his parents, Coedell Blitz “Red” Paul and Clotella Olivia Williams; his stepfather, Ed Williams; and his sister, Adrianne. He leaves to cherish his memory four siblings: Maryland “Pumpkin,” Linda, Sedrick, and Angela, along with many beloved nieces and nephews.Coedell had a passionate love for Jesus and the people around him. He was a faithful member of World Evangelism Fellowship from 1996 until his passing and served diligently at Parkway Assembly of God in many capacities. He attended White Plains High School and went on to work for PerkinElmer for 25 years, followed by another 25 years with Rudy’s Executive Transportation. In addition, he proudly served the community as a devoted umpire and referee for over 40 years.Coedell will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. While our hearts mourn his loss, we rejoice in knowing that he is now in the presence of his Lord and Savior, whom he loved and faithfully served.
