Christos Tsombanidis, 89, of Norwalk, CT passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2022. He lived a fulfilled life of 89 years, with his family as his main focus. He was born to the late Efthimios & Ersaia Tsombanidis, June 27, 1933 in Mesovouno, Nomo Kozani. He was orphaned at the age of 8 following the German invasion of Greece during World War II. He was predeceased by his father Efthimios Tsombanidis, his mother Ersaia Karapanagiotidou, sister Kyriaki Kydes, brother Triantafillos Tsombanidis.
He is survived by his wife Martha Tsombanidis of 72 years, 5 children Efthimios Tsombanidis, Spiros Tsombanidis (Evmorfia), Katina Andreadis (Elias), Pavlos Tsombanidis (Ipatea) & Ersaia Tsombanidis. Eleven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
He emigrated to the United States with his wife and children on June 11, 1966 where they started a new life in Norwalk, CT. His passion was cooking and spending time with his family. He lit up a room when he walked in. He will be remembered for his jokes, singing and dancing. He brought so much laughter to everyone who was in his presence. He made every effort to make everyone around him comfortable. He will be deeply missed by his loved ones.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday December 29, 2022 at 10 am Directly in St. George's Greek Orthodox Church, 238 West Rocks Rd. Norwalk. A brief visitation will be held prior.
