Casey A. Onaitis, 64, passed away quietly on September 10, 2018 after a nearly 30 year battle with MS. Casey faced the challenges of MS with courage and, in his words, a healthy dose of denial. He simply refused to give into the disease. He enjoyed his role as an "MS Ambassador" and was often in attendance at various MS activities and events throughout the area.
Casey retired after over 40 years in the sheet metal industry and had a passion for the heating and cooling work he excelled at. He owned and managed Casey's Sheet Metal Service in Norwalk with his sister, Nancy. Casey followed in his father's footsteps and volunteered at Norwalk Union Cemetery. Casey enjoyed every aspect of his work at the cemetery including repairing broken and fallen stones and of course, the endless tree work. He was greatly loved by his family and friends and will forever be remembered in our hearts.
He is survived by his daughter, Tara Onaitis Phelan (Matthew) of Phoenix, Tara's mother, Patrice Onaitis, of Canton, CT, his son Brian Hartley (Sara) of Canton, CT, sister Nancy Esposito and brother-in-law Joseph Esposito of Norwalk, sister Amy Ristau (Joseph) of Bridgeport, three grandchildren, and many cousins. He was predeceased by his parents Ethel R. Onaitis and Clement A. (Clay) Onaitis.
Friends are invited to attend his Interment Service on October 8, 2018 at 1:00 pm directly at the Norwalk Union Cemetery, corner of Ward Street & Union Avenue, Norwalk. A reception and gathering will follow. Please contact Casey’s sister Nancy at, onancy@aol.com with any questions or to RSVP for attending.
