NORWALK, CONN Carol Elizabeth Hamilton Tooker, age 83, formerly of Norwalk, died on Friday, November 25, 2011 at St. Joseph's Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Trumbull CT. Born in the Bronx NY, the third child of the late Lee R. and Helen Burk Hamilton, she was the wife of the late Douglas C. Tooker. Survivors include a brother, Robert J. Hamilton and wife Vong of CA and a sister, Joan Lee Vitali and husband Gino of Norwalk, 4 nieces and 3 nephews. Carol was predeceased by a sister, Marion Verkuil, of Mesquite, TX. She was also predeceased by her very dearest friend and companion of many years, Julius Pall Jr. Carol attended local schools and was employed by Edwards & Co. and the Southern New England Telephone Company. She was an avid traveler and visited many European destinations over her lifetime. She enjoyed a great passion for antiques and acquired a large collection of unusual and unique vintage items. Her practiced eye yielded both prized and mundane items, but all had a special place in her life. Carol was a generous and loving family member and she enjoyed spending time with all her nieces and nephews, who she spoiled outrageously. She is remembered by her family for the many wonderful experiences she provided them, her generous heart and her joy in a life well lived. A graveside service will be held at 10:00AM on Thursday, December 01, 2011 in Riverside Cemetery, 81 Riverside Ave, Norwalk. The Rev. Robert Crofut of St. Thomas R.C. Church will officiate. There are no calling hours.
