Carol E. Rauhut

March 30, 1936 - January 27, 2022.

Carol passed away at the age of 85 accompanied by family and friends at home in Wilton, CT.  Born as Carol Ann Marie Ederle in Garden City Long Island, NY to Arthur and Caroline (Koehler) Ederle.

Upon graduation from Sewanhaka High School, Floral Park, NY 1953, earned a degree in Industrial Chemistry at the State University of New York, Farmingdale in 1955.  Married Michael Rauhut in 1957 while both were working in the research laboratories at American Cyanamid in Stamford CT. Dr. Michael M. Rauhut (Chemistry) having developed the Chemical Light along with many other patented inventions passed away in 2002.

Served as the President of the Parents Teacher Association for the Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School District while living in Bridgewater, NJ during the 1970’s.  Worked long hours trying to keep 3 active teenage boys from getting into trouble by operating a busy shuttle service.

Carol lived a full life having made many friends along the way.  An avid bridge player and traveler, who enjoyed beaches, swimming, participating in social clubs, music, Broadway shows, photography, and anything to do with nature.

Survived by her sons: Douglas B, Randy T., Ted A. Rauhut, grandchildren Ryan and Renee Rauhut.

Buried next to her husband Michael in the Dana section of the Hillside Cemetery, in Wilton, CT.
