REMEMBERING BENITO AMADOR JR.
Benito Amador Jr., born on November 29th, 1975, passed away at the age of 50 on January 8th, 2026. He is survived by his mother Pilar “Barbara” Amador (nee Rendon); his stepfather Mecson Lopez; his father Benito Amador Sr.; his children Ellysia Amador, Niko Amador, Vanessa Amador, and Daniel Amador; his siblings Brenda Lopez, Barbara “Sweepy” Amador, Maria Amador, Benito “Pops” Amador, and Jessica Melendez; his partner of 25 years April Ayers; and a multitude of nieces and nephews. Benito graduated from Brien McMahon High School in 1995. Benito had a love for music. Big Pun was his biggest musical influence. He also had a love for sports. Benito was a ride or die Yankees and Giants fan and also played football and lacrosse in high school. Benito had a love for people. He was always known for being the social butterfly and class clown; constantly entertaining the room and making everyone around him laugh. Benito was very proud of his Puerto Rican heritage -- 100% by Big Pun was his anthem. Benito also had a love for the unusual, such as his pet snakes and bearded dragons. Benito lived his life with passion and optimism. He was about to start a new chapter in his life when he was sadly taken too soon. Benito’s infectious presence will be deeply missed; especially his rendition of “Cumpleaño Felíz” at all the birthday celebrations. To know Benito was to love Benito. Even though he is no longer on earth with us physically anymore, he will live on eternally in our memories and our hearts. Please consider making a donation to the GoFundMe being organized by his niece Jabrie Britt. If someone is uncomfortable donating directly to GoFundMe or you have any questions, you may contact Brenda, April, or Jabrie personally.
