Barbara E. Waterhouse

Barbara E. (Cacciotti-Pia) Waterhouse of Bethel, passed away peacefully on March 2. She was 75 years old.

Barbara was born in Stamford, CT on October 21, 1943 to Vincent James and Eileen Florence (Rogers) Cacciotti.

She loved fishing, even though she rarely caught much and the fish always “stole my worm”. She enjoyed camping and spending time in the beautiful northwestern part of Connecticut. An avid crafter, she was a regular vendor at the Bethel Senior Center’s Holiday Craft Fair. She was famous for her Italian Anisette Cookies every December, and her Easter Bread every Spring. A devout lover of pizza from Colony Grill in Stamford and Italian Rum Cake from Angela Mia in Norwalk – she was asking for both right up until the end. Most of all, Barbara enjoyed spending time with her seven grandchildren: Frannie, Madison, Caitlynn, Brandon, Jessica, Skylar and Liliana.

In addition to her grandchildren, she is survived by her loving children, Xavier F. Pia, Jr and his wife Lisa of Carmel, NY, Kenneth H. Pia of Norwalk and Vincent J. Pia and his wife Holly of Danbury; daughter-in-law Angel Pia of Wilmington, NC; brother Vincent “Skip” Cacciotti of Stamford, sister Ruth Docimo of Florida, and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her son Peter V. Pia, husband John H. Waterhouse, daughter-in-law Michelle Pia, and sisters Patricia and Jacqueline.

Friends are invited to greet the family on Tuesday March 5, 2019 from 4:00 till 7:00 pm in the Hoyt-Cognetta / Lesko Funeral Home, 5 East Wall Street in Historic Norwalk. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday 11:00 am in the funeral home and interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Norwalk.
