Norwalk Resident Barbara Lee Steeg, age 51, passed away peacefully in her home on March 31, 2015 with her family by her side. She was born on March 7, 1964 and was a daughter to the late Richard and Karen Lee Steeg. Barbara graduated from the University of Connecticut and worked as a Circulation Director and Direct Marketing Professional. Barbara was actively involved in Unitarian Universalist congregations in Miami, FL, Columbus, OH and Westport, CT. She passionately worked for various social justice causes including immigration and prison reform. She was an active volunteer at American Cancer Society; Big Brothers, Big Sisters; Bridges: Domestic and Sexual Violence Support of Nashua, NH; Project MENTOR; and The Mindfulness Bell journal. She was also on the Board of Advisers and reviewed publications for Belletrista, an international women's literary magazine. She is survived by her loving husband Timothy John Neeld and devoted daughter Nadia Abudi as well as two stepdaughters, Elliot & Avery Neeld and a brother Evan Steeg.
