Barbara Lawrence

Barbara Y. Lawrence, age 86, passed away peacefully on Monday May 21, 2018 at the Carolton in Fairfield. She was born on November 29, 1931, (sharing the same birthday with her daughter) to Jessie and Roy Young in Allentown, PA. and was the youngest sister to Estelle and Janet. Barbara lived in Long Island, NY and worked for the Visiting Nurses Service for 26 years. She was an elegant lady, showing compassion, poise and kindness, truly adored by everyone she met. She started knitting at the age of 16 continuing to enjoy and create for others until her sight interfered. Barbara had a natural knack for gardening and was an avid bird watcher, always keeping binoculars and bird books by her window.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Donna Lawrence Davie; son David Lawrence;   grandchildren, Carolyn Davie Haight, Andrew Davie and Alex Davie; great grandson, Nathan Haight.

Interment services will be held on Tuesday May 29, 2018 at 2:00 pm in Calverton National Cemetery in Long Island, NY where she will be reunited with her late husband of 56 years, war veteran, William Robert “Bob” Lawrence III. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Alzheimer’s Association at. www.alz.org
