Arthur J. Lasprogato

May 21, 1923 — April 19, 2012

LASPROGATO-Arthur Joseph Lasprogato, age 88, died April 19, 2012 in Norwalk Hospital. He was born May 21, 1923 in Hoboken, N.J. and was the youngest son of the late Louis Lasprogato and Anna Dimurro Aquino. Mr. Lasprogato relocated to Norwalk as a youngster and attended local schools. He enlisted in the U.S. Army during WW II and served in the Fifth Army with the 10th Mountain Division. After 8 months in the Aleutian Islands he then had a 16 month tour of duty in the Italy. Arthur was decorated with the Bronze Star for Valor, repeatedly rescuing wounded soldiers behind enemy lines. When he returned home he met and married the former Rose Daly on June 7, 1947. Mr. Lasprogato worked as a Tile Mechanic and in later years as a Security Guard at Norwalk Hospital. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with family and friends. He was a Duckpin Bowler at Broad River Lanes and a member of the Friday night "A" league at the Rip Van Winkle Lanes for many years. Arthur was also a member of the American Legion for 57 years, as well as, member of Laurel Athletic Club, the Neptune Boat Club and the Local Carpenters Union. In addition to his loving wife of 64 years, he is survived by two sons, Arthur and his wife Debra, Thomas and his wife Joan, a daughter Linda and her husband Rikki Ball and beloved grandchildren, Katie and her husband Jeffery Jorgenson, Michael, Joseph and his fiancée Leah Bernardo, Jake, Jennifer, and Amanda Lasprogato and his "little Boos" Great grandchildren, Spencer and Ty Jorgenson. He was predeceased by two brothers, Patrick and James, a son, Daniel, an infant great granddaughter, Stacey Lynn and step-father Frank Aquino. He will be sadly missed by all those who loved him. Family and friends are invited to celebrate a mass of Christian Burial Tuesday April 24, 2012 at 9:30 am in the St. Mary Church, 669 West Ave. Norwalk. Entombment will follow at St. John's Mausoleum, Richards Ave. Norwalk, with full Military Honors.
