NORWALK, CONN Antonio Petrucci, age 85 of Norwalk passed away on Saturday, December 04, 2010 in his home, following a long and courageous battle from complications of a stroke. He was the beloved husband to Filomena (Catterino) Petrucci of fifty-three years. Born on October 18, 1925 in Portocannone, Provincia di Campobasso, Italia, Antonio was the son of the late Michele and Adelina (Petrucci) Petrucci and was educated in local schools. He emigrated to the States in 1960 and settled in Norwalk, where he and his wife raised their three sons. Antonio worked as an electrician for the former Urban Electric of Stamford for many years. He and his wife were members of St. Joseph R.C. Church of South Norwalk. Antonio was a loving man who provided for his wife and children. He took special consideration for his five grandchildren, whom he loved dearly. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed gardening and bird hunting. Antonio was known for his landscaping skills and was known to extend them to the neighborhood. He also enjoyed watching various sports on TV, with his favorites being boxing and The Yankees. Along with his wife, he is survived by his sons, Michael and his wife, Cindy Petrucci of Norwalk, Leo and his wife, Toni Petrucci of Milford and Robert and his wife, Catalina Petrucci of Norwalk; five grandchildren, Anthony, Leo Jr., Dominic, Adriana and Michele; a brother, Mario Petrucci of Norwalk and many nieces and nephews. Preceding in death were a brother, Patsy Petrucci and sister, Antoinette Gurnari. The Petrucci family will receive friends on Monday, December, 06, 2010 in Norwalk's Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 5 East Wall Street from 4:00PM - 7:00PM. Antonio's funeral will be held on Tuesday, December 07, 2010 at 9:20AM from the parlor, when the funeral cortege will proceed to St. Joseph R.C. Church, 85 South Main Street, South Norwalk, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00AM. The Rev. Gilbert P. D'Souza will officiate.
