Anthony J. Russo, Sr. age 91, loving husband of 69 years to Ann Conte Russo and lifelong Norwalk resident, passed away on May 6, 2016. He was born on December 31, 1924 and was a son to the late John and Antoinette Zambarelli Russo. Mr. Russo was a proud veteran of WW II having served in the U. S. Army, 296 th Combat Engineers. He was a lifetime member of the VFW. He was a self-employed Carpenter and Contractor.
Survivors in addition to his beloved wife Ann include; three sons, Anthony (Thoumma) Russo, Jr. of Westport, David (Bernice) Russo of Norwalk, Mario (Norma) Buzzelli of Norwalk; a daughter, Kimberly (David) Wilcox of Norwalk; grandchildren, Kelly (David), David, Michael, Anthony, Rachel (Kevin), Kimberly, Valerie, Maly (Alan) & Kai (Molly); seven great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara (Dennis) Bussiere; nieces and nephews; foster son, Adam N’Ghadi. Anthony & Ann were foster parents for over 50 years. He was predeceased by his siblings; Joseph, Ralph, Maria Russo & Grace Peterson. Burial with military honors on Thursday, May 12 th ; at 11:30 am St. John’s Cemetery, Norwalk. Memorial service on Sunday, May 15 th ; 1:30 pm Landmark Baptist Church, 66 Crescent St, Stamford. In lieu of flowers, memorial donation in his name may be made to Landmark Baptist Church. The Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 5 East Wall Street has been entrusted with arrangements.
