Anthony William "Bill" Harrick Harrick-Anthony "Bill" Harrick, age 101, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Sunday October 21, 2012. He was born May 8, 1911 in West Norwalk and was a son to the late John and Anna Vakabek Harrick. Bill had a 35 year career with SNET and as a Special Police Officer for the Norwalk Police Department. He was the Captain of the Char-Mar cabin cruiser that moored in East Norwalk Harbor and he loved cruising out to the local islands to clam, fish and generally relax with his family. He was a member of many organizations, including the police Anchor Club, which he was Past Supreme Director; President of the Hermann Brothers Lodge; President of the Norwalk Retired Men's Group; Fourth Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus. Bill was active at the Darien over 60 Club, the Fairfield Retired Peoples Group and the Norwalk Retirees as well as a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. He was married to the late Elizabeth "Betty" Felix Harrick. Survivors include his four children, William F. Harrick of Arizona, James R. Harrick of New Jersey, Charlene and Marlene Harrick both of Norwalk; five grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. Friends are invited to attend a memorial Mass on Friday October 26, 2012 at 10 a.m. directly at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 203 East Ave. Norwalk. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery.
