Anthony D. Conte (Tony) beloved husband of the late Gaetana M. Conte passed away peacefully on September 13, 2018 at the Carolton Convalescent home in Fairfield, CT. Tony was born in the Bronx on May 31, 1926 to the late Antonio and Rosa Ivarone Conte. He served in the United States Army during WW II and was a proud veteran.
Tony was an electrician with the railroad before beginning his career with Regent Controls, Inc. where until his retirement he was in charge of coordinating production and managing purchasing operations.
Tony was an avid golfer and member of the Laurel Athletic Club. In his retirement years he worked at Oak Hills Golf course as a cashier.
Tony is survived by his loving daughter, Theresa and her husband, Richard of Norwalk, CT. Grandchildren Kristin Harrington and her husband, Daniel of Enfield, NH, Keith Zaffuto and his wife, Shannon of Trumbull, CT and great-grandson Matthew Harrington of Enfield, NH.
Tony was predeceased by his great granddaughter, Annalee Rose Harrington, brothers Biaggio Conte and Joseph Conte, and his sister, Grace Furnari.
Friends may greet the family on Monday September 17, 2018 from 8:30 till 10:30 in the Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home, 5 East Wall Street in Historic Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am in St. Philip Church, 1 Father Conlon Place. Interment will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Norwalk with full military honors.
