Ann V. Krupnik, a resident at Brightview on New Canaan, formerly of Riverside, CT died at Norwalk Hospital on June 20, 2021.
A homeowner in Riverside for over forty-eight years, she was born on June 12, 1929 in Stamford, CT the daughter of the late Morris and Helen Duane Vagedes.
She was a graduate of St. John's Parochial School and Stamford High School, Class of 1946, and loved attending the class reunions. She was a long time member of the St. John's R.C. Church before moving to Wilton in 2013. Ann married (the love of her life) Bernard "Duke" Krupnik at St. John's Church in 1949. She was employed at Cummings & Lockwood as a legal secretary for over 37 years.
She is survived by five children. Her two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael & Patti Krupnik of Wilton, Stephen & Stephanie Krupnik of Annapolis, MD, three daughters and sons-in-law, Karen Krupnik & Lex Zaharoff of Weston, Judy & Socrates Verses of New York, NY and Wendy & Andrew Melnick of Westport, nine grandchildren, Alison Krupnik & Michael Krupnik (Grace Fitzgerald), Brandon, Alexander & Victoria Zaharoff, Zachary & Alexa Verses and Madeline & Jake Melnick, her cousin and friend Connie Meehan, and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, brother Duane Vagedes and five sisters, Catherine Smith, Margaret Romaniello, Helen Moavero, Jean Yates and Patricia Vontobel.
Her greatest pride and joy in life was her family.
In her younger days, Ann was a tireless volunteer. She was President of the Women's Committee of the Boys Club of Stamford, an avid PTA worker, and a loyal supporter of Babe Ruth. Ann taught religious education and collected for the Heart Fund, The Walk of Dimes, and many other charities. She was an amazing baker and cook - every year baking legendary birthday cakes for her children and grandchildren. She loved playing softball, bowling, and roller skating. She was happiest watching her children's and grandchildren's sports games, dance recitals, and gymnastic meets, always cheering them on.
Friends and family may visit Raymond Funeral Home, 5 East Wall Street in Norwalk, on Wednesday June 23rd from 4:00-8:00pm. The funeral will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Church 229 Danbury Road in Wilton on Thursday June 24th at 10:00am. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery in Darien, CT.
She loved her church dearly and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady of Fatima Church in Wilton, or a charity of your choice.
