CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA/WESTPORT, CONN Mrs. Ann S. Amato, 80, formerly of Westport, CT passed away peacefully at her home in Charlotte, NC on Friday, May 13, 2011 after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Ann was born on October 24, 1930 in NYC to Anna and Anthony Stingo. She is predeceased by her husband Carmine Amato, her parents, brother Joseph and sister Mary. Ann is survived by her sister Mickey Falcone and her daughter Patrice Conlon and son-in-law Robert Conlon. She is also survived by her grandchildren Christian, Paul and Alexa Pantazonis and numerous nieces and nephews. Ann was a member of STARS senior group at St. Matthew Catholic Church. Ann's family will receive friends on Monday, May 16, 2011 in Norwalk's Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 5 East Wall Street from 2:00PM - 4:00PM & 7:00PM - 9:00PM. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at 9:30AM from the parlor, when the funeral cortege will proceed to The Church of the Assumption, 98 Riverside Ave, Westport, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00AM.
