Angelo Mattera

Angelo Mattera, 93, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2026. Born on December 6, 1932, in Ischia, Italy, Angelo later immigrated to the United States after marrying his beloved wife, Angelina Buono Mattera. He built his life rooted in family, tradition, and the values he carried with him from his homeland. Angelo was deeply dedicated to his faith, which guided him throughout his life. Angelo cherished time spent with friends and was a familiar and welcome presence at St. Ann’s Club and the Knights of Columbus, where he enjoyed companionship, conversation, and community. He also enjoyed gardening and took great pride in cooking his excellent Italian meals, which he lovingly shared with family and friends.

He is survived by extended family members in Norwalk, Connecticut, and Ischia, Italy, who will cherish his memory and legacy. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Angelina, and his son, Patrick. Angelo will be remembered for his enduring connection to his heritage, his devotion to his faith, and his deep love for family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Friends are invited to a visitation on Friday April 17th from 8:00 till 10:00 am at the Raymond Funeral Home, 5 East Wall Street in Historic Norwalk. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am at St. Jerome Church. Interment to follow in St. John's Cemetery.
