Andrew Viggiano

May 12, 1930 — July 5, 2022

Andrew G. Viggiano, 92, of Norwalk, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on July 5, 2022 surrounded by his family. Raised in Stamford, he graduated from Stamford High School, class of 1948. He served proudly in the United States Marine Corps, fighting in the Korean War, where he received a Purple Heart metal. He spent many years working as a land surveyor in the offices of Moody & O’Brien. With an exceptional memory, he was a scholar on religion, history, and geography. His faith was very important to him. A devoted family man, he is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Marge (Prizio), and daughters Donna Vickers of Cromwell and Nancy Viggiano of Norwalk. He is also survived by his granddaughter, Lisa Vickers, with whom he had a very special relationship. He will be forever loved and missed. A special thank you to all of the wonderful nurses at Norwalk Hospital.

A Christian mass will be held on Monday, July 11 at 10a.m. at St. Matthew Church, 216 Scribner Avenue, Norwalk, with burial to follow at St. John’s Cemetery, 223 Richards Avenue, Norwalk. The family requests that guests please wear a mask. The Raymond Funeral Home in Historic Norwalk has been entrusted with arrangements.
