It is with great sadness, we announce the loss of our beloved brother Amin “Wilton” Esquilin on June 26, 2023 in Bridgeport, CT. He was 55. Amin “Wilton” Esquilin was born on July 13th, 1967, in Norwalk, CT. He was preceded in death by his father, Benito Esquilin and mother, Rosa Esquilin Maldonado. He is survived by his brother, William Daniel Esquilin, and Sister, Eisybell Esquilin Garcia (Edwin). Tío Wilton to his Nephews & Nieces, William Jr.,Jennifer, Daniel, Calyx, and Marcus.
Wilton graduated from Norwalk High School andattended Asnuntuck Community College. During his high school years, he won the 1982 State Champion title for FCIAC/CIAC wrestling in his weight class. Childhood memories consisted with Wilton riding his “Big Wheel” bike along the waterfront of South Norwalk, attending Cub Scouts, and playing for his American Little League baseball team all while making lifelong friends.
As we remember this year, he was excited and able to travel to the island of Puerto Rico to celebrate his uncle’s centennial birthday. His recent accomplishment was becoming a proud member of the America-St. John’s #8 Masonic Lodge of Stratford, CT. Wilton enjoyed movies, tv series, driving super shinny cars, great food, and sports. He was a New York Mets super fan, loyal to his blue and orange colors. He mastered the craft of cutting hair, where he took pride in what he referred to as his art work.
Amin “Wilton” will be remembered for his brotherly kinship and the love he showed to others who shared in his accomplishments and daily walks. He loved everyone God placed in his path, and all those who were blessed to have met him know the impact he left on their hearts. Our family now hold his presence, welcoming smiles, hugs, positive outlook, and laughter which will forever be remember.
Services for Amin “Wilton” Esquilin will be held on Thursday evening from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Raymond Funeral Home, 5 East Wall Street, Norwalk, CT. Following a service on Friday morning at 12:30 pm at St. John’s Cemetery in Norwalk.
