MAYBROOK, NY Alfred A. Nobile, recently of Maybrook, NY and a ten year resident of Norwalk, passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2009 following a long illness. He recently celebrated his 82nd birthday. His beloved wife, Candida C. (Cangiano) Nobile of thirty-seven years, passed away in 1985. Born on October 05, 1927 in New York, Alfred was the son of the late Anthony and Philomena Nobile and attended local schools. At a young age, he entered into the field of printing and lithography. Alfred worked in business and was a member of its union for over forty years in New York for Brooklyn Letter Service and other establishments. He served our nation after WWII in the United States Army. He was an avid Yankee fan, who loved going to the movies and spending time with his family. He is survived by two daughters, Phyllis E. Nobile of Westport and Toni Ann and her husband, Gary McGuinness of Maybrook, NY; five grandchildren, Benjamin and Zachary Kampler and Jennifer, Nicole and Kelly McGuinness; three great-grandchildren, Jazmine, Bianca and Mikayla; a brother, Louis Nobile of Florida; two sisters, Rose Langer and Camilla Cosetino , both of New Jersey and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death were three brothers and five sisters. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, November 16, 2009 in Norwalk's Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 5 East Wall Street from 5:00PM - 7:00PM. His funeral will be held on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 9:30AM, from the parlor, where the funeral cortege will proceed to St. Philip R.C. Church, 1 Father Conlon Place, Norwalk, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00AM. Rev. Michael A. Boccaccio will officiate. Interment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery, White Plains, New York.
