Alfred George Consavage

August 27, 1958 — February 19, 2021

Alfred “Skip” Consavage, age 62, of Norwalk, Connecticut, passed away unexpectedly February 19th, 2021. He was born August 27th, 1958 to the late Alousius “Al” Consavage and Munsey Mohnkern. He grew up in Norwalk and lived there up until his death. Skip was a 1976 graduate of Brien McMahon High school, and went on to own his welding business for over 40 years. He resided in Ridgefield, Connecticut for several years.
Skip loved to weld, and it makes sense since he had a heart of gold and steel. Those who knew him knew he took great pride in his work. He sculpted decorative animal cutouts for the city of Norwalk in the late 90’s. He has done welding work for several celebrities including Eartha Kitt, Michael Bolton and Marlo Thomas. If you needed something fixed, you would call Skip. He was so devoted to his craft, he didn’t even take a day off after winning the lottery.
In his free time, he liked to work in his garden and watch horror movies. One of his true passions was cooking: he loved to try new recipes and ingredients, and impressed many who tried his dishes.
No matter the occasion, you could always count on Skip to make you laugh. He had a reservoir of all kinds of jokes, and was always trying to break the ice with strangers. Skip was a jokester, and brought humor into the life of everyone he met. He was a generous man, who loved his family and his work and was taken way too soon.
Skip is survived by two children, Cassidy and Jonchristian (both from Ridgefield, CT) and his former wife Carol (Consavage) Rogers. He is also survived by his sister Peggy Ferris, as well as several nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends who will all miss his character and devotion.
Friends may greet the family on Friday February 26, 2021 from 5:00 till 8:00 pm at the Raymond Funeral Home, 5 East Wall Street in Historic Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 10:00 am directly at St. Ladislaus Church, 25 Cliff Street in Norwalk.
