Albert H. Scofield

Albert H. Scofield, age 88 passed away Nov 7, 2018 peacefully in his sleep, at his daughter’s home in Stamford.  Bert was born and raised in Broad River section of Norwalk and lived in Wilton with his parents after he finished serving in the United States Air Force. In 1959 he got married and built his own house in Wilton.

Bert served in the Air Force, 1949-1953, stationed in Greenland and North Carolina. He was honorably discharged as Staff Sergeant.  He started a construction company AH Scofield Builders, Inc., building and remodeling many houses in the Wilton CT area.  He worked until 1987 when he retired.  He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and restoring classic cars.  Bert spent much of his last years puttering around in his workshop.

Survived by daughter Kim Scofield of Stamford, CT, sister Elizabeth Fluet, nieces Lynn Farr of Central, South Carolina, Corrine Fluet of Montpelier VT and nephew Norbert Fluet of Barre VT and former wife Terttu Ruuska of Finland. He was predeceased by son Jeffrey Scofield, parents Dorothy and Albert P. and nephew Daniel Fluet.
